About Dr. John
Dr. John has been practicing orthodontics on the eastside of Indianapolis and in Greenfield since 1997.
Dr. John received his doctor of dental surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1994 and was selected for Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, which recognizes the top 5% of dental students across the country. In 1997, he completed his residency at the University of North Carolina, where he received his master of science degree and orthodontic specialist certificate. In addition, he was awarded the Outstanding Research Award for his master’s thesis on pain perception in orthodontic treatment.
Dr. John is extremely active in several dental organizations within the community, often in leadership roles. He is current President of the Indianapolis East Side Dental Study Club, a past President of the Indiana Association of Orthodontists, a past President of the Hoosier Orthodontic Forum and the current President of the Indiana Foundation for Dentistry for the Handicapped, an organization that has donated more than $7 million worth of dentistry for the state of Indiana. He is a charter member in the new eastside Kiwanis Chapter and has served as a Sunday school teacher since 1998.
Dr. John is married to Jennifer, and they have one child, Gabrielle. He enjoys traveling with the family and coaching his daughter’s sports teams. He is a fan of the Colts, IU sports and auto racing, and he also enjoys photography.
He is on the Speedway Action Committee, in charge of obtaining lap sponsors for the Indy 500 and donations to the Speedway museum for the Brickyard 400. Both Dr. Chuck and Dr. John have sponsored 2 laps for both races since 1998. Dr. John has been involved with the 500 Festival for several years as a volunteer, one year even playing the role of Scooby Doo in the parade, and he has also served on the Princess Selection Committee.
